About

The Team

With a vast rolodex from his days working for American Express in East Asia and South America, the Principal, Mike Dow, also leverages employees in his related businesses who have significant experience working in Europe, Southern Asia, and Canada.  This team has many decades of experience in Manufacturing, Financial Services, Wholesale Distribution, Biotech, Banking, Military/Government, and Construction.  Two team members hold equity stakes in the business.  The company was founded in May, 2007 and within weeks was providing off-shore services from India, Romania, Bosnia, China, and the Philippines.

Background

It has become evident in the past few years that outsourcing labor to offshore providers has become commonplace in today’s business world.  Opportunities for utilizing offshore labor have never been higher and the largest North American businesses have mastered this business technique for many years.  They very much helped the market mature and as a result there are many off-shore options of good quality in a variety of locations.  However, the explosion of opportunities has not necessarily made finding offshore partners easy.  Small and medium businesses are in the difficult position of needing cost compression like their large competitors, but lack the experience or time to effectively find and qualify partners.

Also, on occasion, our clients need to qualify a vendor, a situation, or manage expectations of vendors and/or partners in international markets.  They do not always want to or sometimes cannot develop or manage the relationship because of time constraints, competitive issues or pricing issues (e.g. a large company not wanting the vendor to know who is bidding for the resource).

Services

  • Labor brokering – SAS finds international labor that matches our clients’ needs, and provides the contractual environments to manage that process.  These services focus on two areas:  programming/technical services and administrative services.
  • Sourcing consulting – SAS transparently provides our clients with information and advice regarding international companies with whom they wish to do business.  We manage and direct the qualification process.  We provide cultural and language advice and support, as needed.
  • Deal brokering – SAS, on a case-by-case basis, brokers, leverages and manages international goods and services with first-world demand.

Our offshore contacts range across the world and our team has a track record of managing in these difficult environments. SAS stands ready to help North American businesses connect with the international destiny that they can no longer ignore.
